Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

A Visit from Me At Last

Good evening all,  I have been away a long time. We followed the Durango Trip with a Georgia Trip with a quilt sale before at and after the trip. Lets just say I gave a lot of quilts away. Now I am working on matching twin quilts for a friend of mine. I cut them last night and will make a sample block tomorrow. We are leaving again on Thursday for the Saints facility and then I am following up at a retreat the following week. Soooooooooooooo busy.

I have a teaching position for the first of the year. I will be teaching an inclusion K class for about 3 months. I am looking forward to this as the school is just down the road. I have applied for my old job but I doubt the state of Louisiana will make the necessary arrangement for me to have it. I will take off for the Branson Retreat.

Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday

I Am Still Around

Hello out there, I have been so busy traveling , quilting and doing nothing. I think I have covered everything. August is my catching up with medical appointments and staying inside after all it is Louisiana. Well all is well with the body. It is just old and not so tight. The family is great all working at present and my brothers 's house has been repaired. No leaks at present.

We went on an extended bus vacation for 3 weeks with friends to Durango Colo. what fun we had and I had a surprise birthday party out west. My first ever surprise party. Big 71 years old. who would have guessed. I didn't get to go out west to quilt and I miss my possie girls. Hope to see them soon.

Have a retreat to attend  Nov. 17-21 locally. My big retreat is in Branson in March. WhooHoo. Of course I am quilting up a storm. Steve has joined the hearing again, he got the top of the line aids for both ears and loves them.

Dixie is doing great had a great time traveling.

I promise to post more often.

Happy 4th of July

We had a great day putting my new shelves together in the cottage to display my sewing machines. 2 didn't do it need one more. Next month I will invest in another one. They look so happy, now they each will get a spa day and a good lotion ingestion. I am going to catalog then and sell  3/4 of them. I know WHY WHY ?  It is time I am going to keep about 15 only, my favorites. The entire collection will go on sale as soon as I get them ready. After all how many can you sew on at once? Really!

I am going to sew today and the weekend as everything is done and in order, 12 more machines are in the store room and have to moved to the cottage, they can wait as I lifted many pounds yesterday and my arms are tried. My trunk is full of fabrics and quilt mags to pass on to quilting sisters, that's a another day.

Today is fun stuff, making giftees for the retreat in March

have a great weekend!

Hugs patticake.

Good Evening All

So sorry for our Florida Friends tropical storms are not fun. Take care and keep up with the warnings. We are having some summer storms this evening with lightening and thunder and of course hail and rain. Its summer time, been in the 90's for days and weeks, but after such a wonderful spring, I am not complaining. We will be staying home this summer unless there is a Hurricane coming in at us, at the point we will be on the highway heading to north Texas to visit our friends Ernie and Brenda.for a spell as they say down south.

Saw the foot doctor yesterday, not sure whats up with the foot, trying meds first. Put a spacer between toes and see what happens. He said the cysts is gone, the xrays didn't show it so moving along and will see what happens.

Quilting up a storm, making fabric out of scrapes really very modern stuff. It will probably become a purse in the future. Very "artie". I will put the y-seam quilt together at retreat next week. I am bringing some small quilts to quilt also

Steve is still working with Hank and Mike. Miss Dixie still has the job of  following me around and being in the way. Gotta love her, she is a keeper.

My garden is doing okay we ate our first 10 grape tomatoes this week.  Flowers are blooming and the ferns are crazy every where. I am using container gardening, no in the ground with snakes, I am on concrete.

Have a great life

Day Six

Today is day six of rolling around and not being able to be independent. YUG! This is not me and I have turned my DH into a domestic! Who knew. We go to the doctor today to have the foot dressing changed. It will be wonderful to have this boot thingie off even if it is 10 minutes, try to sleep with it. Don't have a  nightmare blood will fly.heheheee

I have almost finished the binding on quilt number one and have quilt number 2 ready to bind. I sewed on my Animals of Louisiana squares and almost have one finished. I will be cutting a mystery quilt this week from Quilters Club of America called City Streets it takes 6 weeks to complete, lots of time to get it done. New directions each Friday how sweet is that

I'm Back

No I didn't fall off the planet, just got busy teaching and sewing and traveling. We are all fine and am enjoying what life brings each day. Actually glad to wake up every day and have another 24 hours to enjoy.

Steve is working for Big hank every day and so is Mike. Little Hank is home from LSU for the summer and is at SLU in Hammond doing and organic chem class and working for his Dad.

I am sewing with girlfriends, vol. with Habitate and getting stuff organized for a gaint yard sale and a large donation to the resale store. I have to donate some quilts. I have way too many stacked up. I will try to sell some also in Georgia in October.

My brothers house is being redone by habitate, so now it is livable. We help all we could but it just got away from us needing major repair from water damage. It caused structure problems.
Dixie is doing great, what a wonderful dog, I was so lucky to adopt her!

Nicolus and Naomi
will be coming for several weeks this summer, they are getting so big and they are so smart in school.  Nic is a war buff at 9 years old. Nay is a fashioneaster are 8 years old. She love shiney stuff to wear. (Just like her MMP)

We have the retreat set for March 2014 on March 23-30th, filled in 45 minutes of posting. My girls love a good time, and off course it in is Branson.

Another Boring Day

I don't sit well!!!!! Did we know this???? I have projects planned for several weeks but they are now doing it for me. Poor Steve has never had to take care of me before and he is pooped. Too much to take care of, welcome to my world. By the end of next week he will have to learn to cook or it will be take out. I planned 2 weeks of meals and then it is up to him.

Foot feels ok not a problem, it is not being able to walk is the PROBLEM. Ok enough of the wining!

I will be alone today as he needs a break to work on my car. Lets see how that works out.

Hugs,

Patticake
