Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

Slow Day

You know I am never moving slowly but yesterday and today, this is slow mode. I am not happy about this. Hope tomorrow is better, not feeling bad just no get up and go.  Finished the sofa quilt this morning about 6:00am. You know I am a early riser. hahahaha  Things need to improve before the Hot Rod Power Tour we move fast this week long activity.

I am going to lay out a pink quilt using Frans blocks. Then a bath and sit and read and watch the voice.

Jackpot

Fran has moved on and doesn't have room for her quilting things. She sorted and gave 95% away or for me to donate about. She had enough blocks people had given her that I sorted and will have enough for 20 tops. WHOOHOO Gave away her whole stash , 2 giant totes of fat quarters and enough stuff to start a studio. She gave me an iron and a case, putting matt and ironing matt.  I won't have to cut a quilt till 2018

I will be bringing so many door prizes to Pomeroy, mailing them up to Rather Bees early. So show up it will be like shopping at Christmas.

Good Morning Sweet Sisters

I had a wonderful week, feeling really great! Quilted a sofa quilt and will bind it this morning. i will transfer fabric back to the cottage , it just walks across the yard and come into the big house. AMAZING how that happens.

We are going to a car show Saturday and I will be cleaning house Monday. Thats all I have planned. So Sunday i can cook for the week. Going to a lot of salads.

Talk to you soon.

Great Monday

Great Monday because it is not raining! Put a boarder on a sofa quilt and will try to pin it today, have a second one waiting, love my days off, may have to make that a reality.  My friends Renee and Mary brought me a sweet scrap bag on Friday night before we went to supper. I am thinking about putting it to good use maybe this afternoon.

I cooked for the week yesterday, sort of went crazy: 2 full chicken pot pies, turkey breast, cornbread dressing, gravy, potato salad, bean salad, and pecan pie. A for me an array of vegetable dishes for the week. This is what I do on Sundays. Monday is house cleaning most of the time but we have rain for 5 days forget the floors. hahaha.

Welcome any new members email me and let me know you have joined. Renee give Mary the site please.

Welcome Linda Miller to the possee . thank you for coming aboard. I don't post every day but will try to post weekly. I am really excited about the mystery. made 2 just to be sure, over achiever!!!

Today is cooking day (for the week) potato salad for the first of the week, bean salad for the later week, fresh salad for any time.  Chicken pot pies (big ones) one for now one for the freezer, baked turkey breast, mixed veggies and a pecan pie. Done for the week. the fresh salad is in jars for taking to work. I think i will have time to quilt later today and tomorrow.

I will be selling some sewing machines later next month so i will be cleaning and oiling with Steve for the next 5 weeks. I will be reorganizing my stash of stuff. A lot has to go to someone else to love. I will list things as i separate stay or go.

Have a great week and touch someone with caring.
