What a Full Day and It Not Over Yet

Good evening, started the day with cutting 2 Mardi Gras Dolls, got ready for the QueenBees Meeting and then was off to Tickfaw La. to meet the Queens. Had a great meeting showed off our quilts that we finished, took care of projects for the coming year, ate lunch and had a demo of a paper pieced star. Now it is 1pm, so I called Little Hank from the car and arranged to pick him up and proceed to Bright Hopes Quilt Shop. It is about 25 miles to the shop so we talked about the pit falls of collage life and what he was thinking for the future, MEDICINE is the answer, and he is smart enough. Arrived at the shop and begun to look at the LSU Fabric, he knew what he wanted and he and I put the design on paper. Fabric bought $99 for the top,(Queen Size) need a back and batt. I will have it quilted by one of our longarm gals in the area. Came home and met Fran in the yard, hooray the gangs are here!!!!!!!! I have just cooked supper for Steve as I am going to play bonco at 6:30pm. WHOOHOO

Heat Wave 47 degrees

Went out to get the paper with just a jacket, amazing!!! (Just for one day)
Cold weather is on the way with rain first, just regular Louisiana weather. Great day for doing what ever needs to be done in town.

I just reorganized my bathroon and I will never have to buy products for the rest of my life. Body lotions, sprays, scrubs, wrinkle creams, etc.... I would bid on baskets of products at fund raisers and would win so they would be emptied in bins under the sink area, well not any more, keeping enough fpr a full life time and passing on the rest. My friend Jerri G. made soaps and soothers, well opened one of hers this morning, still smells great Jerri, thanks.

Today I am working on big Hanks income tax, getting things filed and added up so he can get it done quickly. This evening I will be covering one of the window treatments in the bus with some new fabric. Hope I like it.

Still binding quilts, sewed while I played football with my next favorite teams, Pitt. Steelers and the Greenbay Packers. What a match up for the superbowl. WHOOHOO

Retreat is finalized so just waitng to see who makes their reservations. It is going to be so nice to spend time with the possie. On the Road Retread Quilters, wish they could all come.

Little Hank and I will be shopping for LSU fabric for his quilt, we saw some on the internet yesterday, wow was it expensive, But this is my first grandson so cough it up mawmaw Pat. heheeeeeeeeeeee

Have a great day!

WhooHoo

I did it!!!!4 full days of quilting activities. Four quilts layered and pinned and ready to quilt to tie. Took the scraps from the yellow and blue king size log cabin I made for Hank's wedding and make a queen size and a lap from the left over fabrics from years and years ago.

My back is hurting a little from working on the quilts bending over my king size bed, but I am done. I have never gotten so ready for a retreat. I will be quilting or tieing my 4 quilts, making Naomie's doll, constructing Joyce's quilt, maybe doing a gift of tea towels, and working on the Rattlesnake blocks.

It has been a great week, have enjoyed the cold weather and being able to stay in the house and work. What a week.

Just A Closer Walk to Thee

What a great game! The Seahawks brought it to the game. The game was great even with us not winning. Thanks for the support around the US. We still love our boys!!WHODAT, WHODAT

We are hunkered down waiting for the storms today, got everything we need and will enjoy the wind, rain, ice, snow and cold. It is okay when you don't have to go to work, heheheeeeeeee Sorry guys just a little rub about being retired and mature. Thats my new word this year instead of being "old". Some people around me are old even when they don't have the age thing going on. Maybe they need a hobby. hahaa quilting never makes me tired.

Still working on my UFO list, cutting it down to what I plan on finishing this year. I found some kool things, just when I thought I was finished, found a entire shelf of stuff. Go figure!!

I have checked on my brother for the storm, good morning Steve! Sent warning to all who have kool phones with text service so I have completed my protection mother, sister, grandmother, friend mode. Have a great day and plan a great week. Had my oatmeal and fruit this morning and have chicken soup for today so I am done.

Taking a Break

I have been busy with a capital "B". It is 10am and I have already vacumned, steamed clean the floors, dusted, cleaned the bathrooms, took the dog for a bath, done the laundry, folded and put away, washed the dog beds waiting for them to dry,now I am listening to my favorite opera blind guy, Bocelli, eating a small honey chrisp apple, drinking a iced coffee and talking to all you guys. What could be any better!!!! I lit all the smellie good candles.

I put the heatpump on in the cottage so I could work out there in a little while. I need to sort UFO's for distribution or for finishing, either will be fine.My NYE mystery blocks are finished and last night I took Joyces blocks apart so I can finish her quilt at retreat. I need a trip to the quilt shop next week for some boarder fabric, I am going to look but I don't think I have the right shades for her new coach.

Steve and I will probably start on our coach next week, removing the love seat and replacing it with the new chair and cabinet. We are saving the love seat in case we trade up coaches in future years. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Okay Steph, selling me out to the Seahawks, whats up with that sweetness?????
I was shocked to see your note, you know the Saints tend to walk on water as we say in Louisiana, Let the Good Times Roll. I am supporting the Ducks against Georgia so Girl lets not be pulling to hard for the Seahawks, just know we will all have on our Saints garb, shirts, hats , flags etc.... come Saturday. Let the best team win.(GO SAINTS) love you girl anyway!!!!

I am going to read the morning paper , then go to the cottage, having my eyes checked today, nothing wrong, just after surgery(Lat Year) they like to look at their work.heheheeheheeeeeeeeee.

Soooooooooo many games! Waiting on the Oregon Ducks to come waddling in as winners. GO DUCKS!!! Saturday is the Seattle/Saints game, gotta win Go SAINTS. What will I do when football is over, don't want to think about that.

I am really going to replace football watching with walking. Good Move. Walk /Sew Walk/Sew thats the plan .Today I will be pushing the vacumn cleaner and redoing the pantry/utility room. I need to organize, feel the need, then on thursday back to the cottage.

Spent the day with Bonnie yesterday, had a great day, stopped atr Sam's and checked out printers. Steve took mine apart last night and removed the paper jam, now it won't turn on, so I will be replacing the printer. Always something!

Can't wait to pick fabric for retreat, sent in the payment for retreat 12 days to go. I will be checking with the hotel about our retreat in May.
Busy day.

Good Morning Quilting Sisters and Brother

What a great day! Steve went to work and I am home alone... Doesn't happen often. What to do first is the question????Dress or not? Sew or not? Clean or not? Oh my what problems. It is 29 degrees so going anywhere is not an choice at the moment.I do need to pay the taxes today is they are open, later after it warms up some.

Christmas came and left so back to basics, I will start the give away today 50 items this month starting in my bathroom. I have every lotion and cream know to man stuffed in the cabinet and nail polish (driedup)and dust collectors. Each month will be a different room in the house. The utility room is in the middle of the house and needs real going through so I am combining that with the bathroom.

I will be in the cottage 2 days a week, sorting folding and gathering the UFO for either finishing or passing them on. I will be taking them to retreat on the 17th. Thats the plan and I am sticking to it. No more sitting on the butt, keeping busy is the plan.

Filled in my journal with WW today plan on 5 lbs a month coming off, this the year for the second fifty. WHOOHOO Last year was good with WW, this one will be also. The new plan is greatr if you are thinging about getting healthy.

I will organize my thread collection so it is all in one place, by types and colors. I use a lot of threads for sure.

All projects will be florials and Christmas this year. I will taking them to Georgia in October for sale. So if you have Christmas UFO's to part with send them to me.

Have a wonderful Day, week and year!

Bro have you finished yiur turkey? Mine was tasty>

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here we go a new year in place and we are still upright and breathing, WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!! Steve's resolution is to keep breathing, mine is to continue with WW's and have a WELL year health wise.

ENOUGH OF THAT! Now to real fun stuff, the Saints play today whoohoo, we can get home field advantage by winning today, go boys and lets kill them with number 88 (Shockey Baby) and Big Nicks number 77. Love these boys!!!

Had lunch at Armand and Tayna's with Greg and Kathy. Tayna cooked Ham, steak, cabbage, shrimp gumbo, potato salad, blackeye peas, rolls, apple pie, and cherry cake. Her new best friend is Main's Super Market since she is at home with Armand nursing him back to health. We always enjoy seeing these folks ,Kathy and Greg have moved to Calf. They are here because her mother is in the hospital.

Went out to supper with Hank, Lorie and Little Hank last night and they lost our order at Bonefish so when we finally ate it was FREE and it was a BIG ticket. Thats what I'm talking about free and wonderful, I had fish taco's, ate one and brought the other home.

I will continue with my mystery quilt today and tomorrow I will clean house and pack up 50 items to give away. I am "decludering" this year. Every month 50 items go either garbage, or goodwill etc.

Tuesday I will be in the cottage, sorting and reorganizing fabric and getting ready to pass along some UFO's. This will continue till finished.
Thats the story and and I am sticking with it.
