Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

A Little Extra Time

I don;t know how I ever worked and ran the household, maybe I am just slower, who knows???? I don't ever get it all done. I have now picked days for certain things to get done. Who knew I would have to have a schedule at age 70.

I just finished planning our meals for the rest of the week.  A Menu  is important since we don't eat fast food. We mainly eat from farm to table which takes a lot more prep time but is so  good for the body and mind. The kitchen is clean and all is tucked away waiting  for breakfast.

I will quilt in a little while watching TV. I read for an hour in the late afternoon while the cornbread was baking to go along with the cabbage, potatoes, carrots and corned beef. A great fall meal!

Steve has been working for big Hank everyday with Michael. Nice having the boys working together.  I see hank and Michael everyday really nice.

My quilts are ready for the quilt sale in Georgia in October, just need to decied on my demo for the ladies. John's quilt is almost finished, doing the binding tonight.

We have a lot to do in the next 3 months.

Birthday Coming Tomorrow

WHOOHOO, WHOHOO my big 70 is tomorrow. I am loving it , ever years has been a great milestone. I love life and all she brings. (Even the Challenages) 8 more days before I fly to Washington State and quilt with my sew n sew sistra's. I met these girls in 1995 in a B&B in Sisters Oregon and it is a friendship that has lasted all these years. The retreat that I am going to is in Pomeroy Wa.  scheduled by Marge Thompson (a sew n sew sistra) and this will be our 10th year reunion in Pomeroy and I haven't miss one yet came close with a hurricane once but got on the last plane that left New Orleans.

Will pack this week , have already cut my projects and they are ready to go. I quilted a pineapple quilt about 40 % today, cooked , read, and read 3 newspapers. I call that a great day!

Feel free to send those birthday wishes , remember I love birthdays!
