Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

I am soooooooooo tried waiting for the storm, we are ready and everything is done so we wait! Limbs have started to drop and the wind is starting to blow. Just the beauty of Louisiana, gotta love her.
I have had a nap, cooked and will now go take a bath. . I will sew tonight. Thats my plan and I am sticking to it.

Hurricane Watch

This storm is on our doorstep. We should feel it by late this evening, all day tomorrow, and maybe thursday also. I am worn out getting ready as is my entire family. Thank goodness for Mike my youngest, he boarded the entire house last night. Laundry is done, house clean, freezer is done (food in big plastic bags on shelf)frig cleaned out and food cooked. Important papers in backpack and most electronics packed.  Money gotten from bank and all cars and trucks filled with fuel. Grills cleaned and loaded with cook fuel. All lawn furniture put away and flower pots low on the ground. All fruit was picked from fruit trees. The best is Little 19 year old Hank came in from LSU last night and came and visited his mmp (mawmawpat) His Daddy is happy to have him home from LSU in Baton Rough even if it is only for 2 or 3 days. Dixie had a bath yesterday also.

Am I tried, you bet your sweet butt I am! Slept 7 hours without waking up, these storms are really tiring.
Hope all goes well.

Stuck IN Lake Charles Louisiana

Good morning, we are still trying to get home. We are plugged in at Martin's Truck/Rv Repairs. WEW were towed here yesterday after 2 nights in the La. Welcome Center. They sent a gaint tow truck to pick us up. The hose on top of the trans let go with a hole in it and bathed our tow truck with fluid. WE are plugged in and have all the comforts of home, but would like to be home soon.

I of course brought my quilting and a great book so we are good and the freezer has food and the frig is stocked, just need milk, will get that today.

Will keep you posted.

hugs,

Heavy Heart

I come to the blog today with a heavy heart. Cousin Bonnie's husband Donald passed away after a long fight with cancer. He had a stroke on Saturday and never came out of it. He died peacfully with his family around him. I will be going to St Bernard tomorrow to visit with my favorite cousin and spend the day remembering all the interesting things Donald did in life.

I have been quilting and watching the olympics since they started and am pulling for Lola who races tomorrow.

I will catch up later this week.
