Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

Had a great day today, drank my normal pot of coffee, had toast with peanut butter then headed to the Everything Is a Buck store for $ a loaf bread, got 5 loaves for the freezer. Came home pressed the LSU quilt top and squared it up. Baked 6 doz cookies for Steve, oatmeal/choc chip and peanut butter cookies.

Had a deer burger for lunch and a can of spinach, oh my what a treat...... made shrimp salads for supper and did a strawberry/angel food cake dessert and then took a nap.

All is Well

The doctor saw him today and said looks great, more drops for the new eye and more drops for the other eye. I have 2 charts to keep up with the procedures. I will be having my every 6 month check up in the morning and then to the foot doctor to relieve the pressure in the foot from that stupid cycis thingee. I already taped the bedroom for painting so when I get back I will get after it. Painted the big mirrow that I have had since turning 12 years old that hangs behing my make-up table that I have had since 12 years old. I have hauled that thing my entire life.......

I will renew my drivers lic. Friday morning since they have not sent me a renewal by mail. I need it to fly.I will sew some more on Hank's quilt and watch some tv tonight. Yesterday wore me out, getting up at 4am and having to drive to Baton Rouge and then being quiet all day so he could sleep.

Have a great week.

Last Eye Surgery

This morning we left at 5am to get to Baton Rouge Louisiana for Steve's right eye cataract surgery, left eye was done 2 weeks ago. WE had to schedule close as I am leaving Sept. 12th for Pomeroy WA. We have to hope we have no hurricanes coming in in the next 2 weeks until he can drive, we have a back up plan if one comes in ride it out in the bus in the garage. We have 40 gaint pine trees around the house, by bigI mean over 50 inches plus around and some are in poor health because of our dry weather. His left eye is almost completely healed so we are doing drops for another  4 weeks in the new eye and 2 more weeks in the old eye. He will not need glasses for most things. His eyes are the opposite of mine, glasses for reading  and great distance, his read without and maybe glasses for distances. WE will see.

We got home for 8:30am and went to sleep till noon, old folks need rest.heheeee, he is still sort of in lalaland form the drugs. We will take it easy the rest of the day. I am going to work on Hank's LSU Quilt.I cooked for the week yesterday so no cooking for me just chose and heat. We have doctors appointments tomorrow and Thursday I am going to skip quilt meeting and paint instead. I am one week behind schedule. You know me and schedules, gotta stick to it. I really want to get finished.

I have a lot of quilts to finish for the Rats Rally in Georgia, thats where I sell well.

Two weeks till Tony and Joyce come to visit for my Birthday.......September 3rd 1942 (69 years young)

What a Wonderful Life

Got back in the groove, painted bedroom on Monday, shopped for quilt show prizes on Tuesday, tomorrow WW and work on the LSU Quilt. Thursday quilt class at Bright Hopes and Friday Dixie and I go for some beauty work! Saturday is recycling and Sunday we just lay around. Monday I will paint another bedroom. I have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom to go. Then we have to finish the end room in September.

We will be picking up firewood to split along the way. It is toooooooooooo hot to work outside at this  stage of life, thats my story and I am sticking with it.So indoor projects are best, This evening I am going through my shoes and boxing up the ones that I don't need.

Armond is back in the hospital seems like 10 days is his limit to stay home before the fluid returns. Talked to Tayna at a restaurant today and she is really worn out, but she is like the bunny, just keeps on going and going, going.....

Steve is recovering nicely from his eye procedure, thank goodness, he needs these eyes to drive the bus. His next eye isn't scheduled yet, wants to do it before I leave on September 12th.

Little Hank is all  moved in at LSU, nice condo, we pulled the trailer of furniture up yesterday. I feel better having seen the gated complex he will be living in. Going to REALLY MISS THAT SWEET 6 FOOT BABY! Can you tell how close I am to him........

Checked in with my brother he is doing okay.

Weekly Check-In

Steve had eye surgery yesterday, all is fine and now the drop procedure for the next 3 weeks starts. whohoo for him will probably do the next eye in the fall. Have to watch the dates as September 12 is 5 weeks away. I have the sweet grands this week and we are doing great, they finally know what they should do when they are spending a week with us.

Mike was bitten by a dog yesterday and of course he took care of it in his own way. The owner came and picked up the dog at 6pm. Thank goodness. the dog was awful and dangerous.

Big Hank is 40 today and Nicolas will be 8 tomorrow. Little Hank  was 18 on Sunday. All in a line and all leo's. We bake a cake today for Nicolas tomorrow' little celebration. Sunday is his big party at his great grand on main street.

Haven't gotten much sewing this week oh well next week is sewing and painting.

Hugs all
