A Big Good Morning All

Well there, good morning, the kiddies are here, I will play with them all day. We will start off with home made wafflers and then some games and pizza for lunch and movies this afternoon. I have a plan. Went to the doctor yesterday and a spider bite me on the toe, more meds, I feel like a walking drug store, so I won't be wearing open shoes in the yard this summer, I have learned my lesson.

I will be going to a wake tomorrow as my old administrator from Kentwood Elem. School passed away, I really liked her a lot. Saturday night we have a family wedding in New Orleans at 7.pm., I will have to take a nap during the day to stay awake till they cut the cake. I am usually in bed by 9:30pm.hahaaaaaaaaa

Bro we got the starter back and Steve will be putting it back together for you.

Moving Slowly

I guess super woman shouldn't have picked up that machine and twisted around to but bolts on the top shelf, my mid back is killing me. Okay enough of the I am off to the races, machine is serviced and ready for pickup so I am off to Mandeville La. to see Dr Daan the machine doctor! Paid bills and lined up the rest of themonth so that head ache is done for now. House is still clean will vacumn tomorrow as the Kiddies are coming Thursday. Landry is in the dryer and meals are planned, I'm Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I won't be cutting fabric but maybe I can sew, we will see, if not I can read and think. Can't wait for Friday, the dog is getting groomed and I am too, hair cut, nails, feet and a wax (Face only). Still no ticket, Pomeroy is looking break...sad, sad. still hoping for a break.

We are kool this morning and will be even cooler this week, the last hooraw for spring and the the heat moves in and so do I.

The Weather is Beautiful

We hat a grand day, just perfect. I spent the entire morning in the cottage working on giftees, prizes, give aways etc for the Retreat  May first. My Elna was screaming so after lunch I took her to Dr. Daan's sewing machine hospital. She hasn't been serviced in years, well she is all better and I will pick up up tomorrow. I got out my M.Wards free arm and got her all cleaned up just in case, she is a sweetie. I have no male sewing machines just thought I would get that out there.

I also planned the schedule and the trips for Retreat, can't wait we will have a ball. We haven't met in 2 years so we will  get caught up on alot of news. The hotel is really being great and we really appreciate that.

I will continue with working in the cottage all day tomorrow, wedneswday is WW and then Thursday the kiddies are coming. I LOVE being and grandmother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Free Day

Whoohoo, by my self, Steve is working a festival, house is clean, no chores due, so guess what I am going to do??? Any ideas, correct I am going to play with my fabrics in the cottage. I am going to be cutting some give aways/door prozes for the retreat. Also gathering  door prizes and cutting projects for mini demo classes. What fun!!!!

I will also get a give away box and maybe several sewing machines may be gifts. I am such a giver.I have so much to share with my retreat quilters.

I am going to plant some basal and some other herbs. My parsley is beautiful. My roses are really going out since I cut them way back a few weeks ago. I have to get it all done before it gets hot, because I don't like to sweat. hahaaaaaaaaaa

All you guys out west sorry about the snow and rain, we have stella weather at this time.

Good morning Bro

Great Day

WOW what a great day!! Only in Louisiana can we have a great day and then in 12 hours it is a different story. We take them as they come. This week has been wonderful spring weather, starting tomorrow rain and more rain and maybe some storms during the week so inside activities are planned. Naomi and Nic will be coming to spend the week with their Daddy and he is  in school during the day sooooooooooo I get them, I love this!!

The house is clean and in order during the month of may I will tackle the computer room and the end room.Steve acutally gave away about 50 hats this morning, who knew he had those hats stuffed in the bottom of his closet. It is a start maybe in 10 years he will have it cleaned up. It is a male thing.

I am going to quilt this afternoon as I find a good movie to watch. Tonight we are going to eat with Armand and Tayna.

Tomorrow Steve is working the Blues and BarBeQue Festival and I am working in the cottage folding fabric. Can't wait.

Hello Bro

Another Day In Retirement

A big HELLO out there, had a great day for Steve's birthday! Took him to lunch and pumped the peddle in the S10 and found out the ***%#$* went out. I was in the truck and it was up in the air on the lift in Steve's man cave.

Went to the quilt club meeting this morning, showed 2 quilts and helped plan the years activities as I volenteered to share some skills.We will be do a mystery in july called Christmas in July, how sweet is that.

Dropped some clothes off to my brother, just left them as he was sleeping when I arrived. Hello Bro!!!!

Planned my weekend meals today and will shop a little for fresh veggies and fruit tomorrow. I will made a cake for Steve on Sunday and everybody will come for cake and ice cream that evening.

A Big Hello

Had another weight loss this morning, go girl, go girl, can you feel the  rhythm!!! I am feeling great, life is grand when you can walk, bend and get up off the floor. I will continue with the WW program as it is working for me.

My friend Jean came over today an we had lunch together, visited for about 2 hours. She is having knee replacement later this month, she really needs it, she is hobbling. Sh was my partner at work for a zillion years.

I have to cut flying geese this afternoon for a demo tomorrow with my quilt group. Hope I remember the sizes to cut. I love the new arrangement of my sewing area in the house, very comfortable and wide open.
I can now look out the window as I work.

I am still looking for a ticket to Pomeroy Washington, will try again this evening.

A Quick Hello

The TOOTH has an abcess as big as texas on its backside. PAIN PAIN, Melvin my trusted Dentist gave me enough meds to treat it for 6 weeks if I need them. I only use non real drugs for pain so bite the branch. It will get better or it is a root canal. WOW don't have time for that.

Had blood work done and am waiting for that good news, I have been a really good girl, sugars have been between 90 and 115 for a long time. GOOD JOB PATTICAKE.

Finished room # 3 today and will march to #4 on Friday, as I have a quilt meeting on Thursday and tomorrow my friend Jean is coming over and having lunch with me YEA. Steve has about 6 containers to move tomorroe while I am at WW.

I have to fix suppe have a great evening.

A great hello Bro!!

Break Time

I had to get off the roller coaster, been cleaning since 7am, break time. I am in room #3 the old dining room, now the sewing area. The entertainment/ bar cabinet came out great, have all the booze and glassware in and still have space. Moved baking ware and big chrystal item into the cabinet above one of the oven areas. I now know and can get to all my things. I have tooth that is really acting up so I am going to the dentist office to see if they will exray it and tell me what is happening with it.

I promised my self to do this kind of cleaning 2 times a year, spring and fall. I am going to stop after I do the sewing area as the grands are coming friday an I will be playing with them for about 5 days. They are so much fun.

I have to plan for Steve's birthday on Thursday......

Good Morning Sistas

Ate crawfish last night, how sweet is that! Onlyhad a few as they were $4.29/lb. Not much but a taste, good anyhow. Kitchen is beautiful and will take pictures today and try to post them. Today we will cut and clean the little yard. Tomorrow I will rest finally. Monday is the living room (You can run but you can't hide) spare no victims, out with the useless. It feels great to be getting this finally done.

Cooking school was wonderful yesterday, fish, bluecheese salad with pecans,smashed potatoes with an onion sweet topping, I know, and breadpudding with an amretta sause. I brough most of mine home to Steve.

We have a very dense fog this morning, 1 mile visability at the moment, was like this yesterday too, everything is drippy. Makes for frizzy hair, not that I would know.hahaaaaaaaa

Item of the day, iceburg letteuc $2.49 a head, who knew! My eggplant $3.00, bell peppers $1.00 a piece. Everybody in the US will be getting lean and hungry. What a program to reduce Americans except for those on food stamps.

A Big Good Morning All

Well I don't know what happened to me but I have the cleaning bug in a big way. Everey monday I take one room in the house and clean it inside and out. I mean all cabinets shelves floor, base boards, every item and pack up what I am not going to use to give away. In the middle of it all I bought the paint for my kitchen, you guessed it PURPLE. If you can't enjoy what your passion is in the golden years, WHEN??? I am going to paint today and tomorrow. Will post a picture when I am finished, now I need new covers for the chair pads, and placemates, table clothes, who has purple fabric??? hahaaaaaaaaa

I am off to WW this morning and have planned my meals for today, don't you hatr organized folks? I am sorry I have to waste so much time sleeping.....I am actually trying to make the house easier to keep up with and getting rid of clutter and stuff we don't need. I am using a steamer instead of chimicals and it is working really well, found it in Steve's garage.Next week I am converting a TV intertainment unit into a cocktail center, this is funny because we don't drink but have a sh..pot full of alcohol stored in a kitchen cabinet.I can use that cabinet for cake plates and other big crystal items.(SmartThinking)

Top of The Morning

Going to the St Patrick's Parade this morning, you know how I love a parade. It is sunny and cool, very nice should be in the 70's today and we are having supper with Tayna and Armond this evening, I haven't seen them in 2 weeks so we have alot of catching up. Steve is gathering the recycling for a trip to unload it. I am doing laundry and have already vacumned the entire house and cleaned the bathrooms. Pretty good for an older lady!!!!

I put together my lonestar bird  trade block quilt last night, have to sandwish it tomorrow and get it ready to finish. I am still tying the big yellow and blue strip quilt and like goes on.

This week I start my big spring cleaning, mpring everything possible scrubbing around the baseboards getting things for a garage sale as I do the house. After the next 2 weeks I can think about painting this summer since I am going to be home a lot.(FUEL).

Steve and I will tackle the washing down  the house together with the sprayer thingee. Life goes on!!!!

Everybody is doing well but girls out west no plane tickets in sight, pray for a special>

Is the Ark Ready

We have received rain again with tornadoes, lightning, thunder and wind. Lots of damage in Louisiana. Thank goodness our trees are still standing, 3 leaks in the roof area, small ones, Steve can fix them when we dry out. More lines coming through later today. WE just love this state, you can get every kind of weather in 24 hours, 32degrees -65degrees all in 12 hours. Thank goodness Mardi Gras got finished before it started rocking in the sky.

Today is Mikes Birthday, my baby is 37 years old, where has the time gone???? I even got older, can't understand how that happened.heheeeeeeeee I will be baking his favorite cake, buttered pecan with a wipped cream icing, all for him.

I will go to WW Watchers this morning then back home for the day and ty the big quilt some more (84x96) all scrap strips, stashbusters would be happy. This is the group that encourages you to  use what you have and not buy when you don't need to. With what I have I will be sewing into 3001. I want to put together a small quilt of the Lonestarbird blocks that I have, may do that this afternoon since I don't have to cook. Fran sent us home with a lot of food from yesterdays BBQ.

HAPPY MARDI

Happy Mardi Gras, doing the Mardi Gras Momba as we speak. It is raining and we will have big storms today and tomorrow with tornadoes possible, yea for the parade watchers. I am actually at home watching on TV, but have on my Mardi Gras stuff. Dancing around the house acting like I am in The Freanch Quarter.

Next year I am going to Mardi Gras, I am planning early, who wants to go???? Let me know.

I will be quilting today and doing nothing as I have changed the bed and done 4 loads of laundry , washed, dried, folded and put away. Fran Is cooking today so don't have to cook , what can I say. Happy Mardi Gras.

"Up and Atem"

up and going, today is income tax day, get it ready! Once that is done I am free for the rest of the projects, which include, putting winter clothes away, taking stuff to Donation centers, room by room Spring cleaning, folding fabrics in the cottage, washing down the bricks on the house, moving junk from the back yard, sorting give away stuff or garage sale stuff, finishing my end of the famous "end" room this should take me throught the summer. I am sure Steve will not complete his end of the room. Oh well!!!

This morning I will omplete paper work and then move on to making my Lonstarbird quilt. I have a really big scrap strip quilt ready to tie, hav you ever press on after it was penned and tied??? A first for me , it needs it from being folded up so long. I finised the blue star quilt yesterday it is really pretty , made from all left over parts of other quilts. Gee I just love making quilts and touching fabric!!!!!!!!!!!

It was 37 degrees this morning, when will Spring begin? I am wareing a sweat shirt this morn, we are in Marching and we have a nother big storm coming. Oh well only had 3 leaks doing the last one, have those covered with catch containers. NOT my department, I am the inside policewoman.

Rain, Rain Go Away

We need the rain , but it is Mardi Gras Time," Hay Trow Me Somem Mister" That is New Orleans Talk for Hey Up There, Can You Throw Me Something Mister? I hope to make at least one parade before Tuesday.We will see. Hank's Taxes are at the accountants and mine are ready to complete tomorrow. WHOOHOO

Yesterday I cleaned the front yard and flower beds, HATE DOING THAT, do you feel me, but it counts as exersise according to weight watchers. This morning I used the blower for the back patio and carport. I will vacumn  when I finish with the computer and am washing the dog beds as she is having a day of beauty.

Steve is at the shooting range in the rain, men what can I say!!!!!!!!! After lunch I am going to Books a MIllion and read all new quilting mags and take notes on what I like, sounds like a plan. Tonight we are going to a car show and walk around and say hello to the folks we know.

At present I am rocking out to Mardi Gras Music, thats right sweet sisters and brothers we have our own music, you should see me now, WILD just love that Mardi Gras sound.

Wish you could hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will also be tying a blue star quilt this weekend and putting together a Christmas Quilt. I have a plan>

Almost Ready

Income Tax, I hate getting it ready, Big Hanks should be ready today and mine tomorrow. I can't move ahead with any projects till these are done and do I have projects lined up and not just quilting. I have to continue my clean out with or with out Steve. He hates to get rid of anything and I am ready to simplify my nest.
Prjects for the spring and summer include painting the ceilings in a latte color to warm the house up, paint the kitchen a beautiful purple, bedroom latte with a red wall and bathroom to match and make repairs as needed. Clean out clutter!!!!!!!!!!This is where Steve has a problem and try another garage sale.The yard is a mess after this terrible winter so it will need some replanting. Do you think I have a lot to do???????

Redo cottage , sell stuff I no longer want or like, that will be late in the year, as I need to finish my UFO's right Linda? I checked flights to Spokane and I think I can do it for September.Will check with Barbara and Marge.
Trips planned are Texas in April, Pomeroy in September, Georgia in October and Texas in December.The biggest thing is Retreat in Ponchatoula in May. I will be getting projects ready this month. Am I business?Let me catch my breath, oh forgot cutting my brothers grass.

Will post the pictures of the pineapple quilt, really nice.
