Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

WHODAT GO BOYS

Go home WV , the Saints Came Marching In, Oh When The Saints Come Marching In, I am In That Number!!!! What a game , a real nail biter for sure. I was sewing the binding on Hank's quilt (LSU) and had to stop so I wouldn't miss anything. Go Saints! ON Football days we arrange everything around the game,Do you think we love our boys???

Next 3 games are on the road so part of New Orleans will be traveling.

I have a lot to do today and have started early, did 4 loads of laundry and will be vacuuming and steaming the floors. I have a zillion things on my day planner for the week. Thank goodness all the left over garage sale stuff went to St Andrews Sat afternoon. Made $300 FOR JUNK not bad and emptied 60% of the end room. When I move sewing machines out lots of space will be emptied. Steve's 6 feet is really junked up , but will assist him in going through his treasures.

I have several small Christmas Quilts to sandwich and tie before we leave for our Autumn Trip to Georgia and Tenn.

Have a great day!

Goodmorning BRo

Off and Running

What a way to start your day, no coffee! I hadmy 6 month bloodwork done this morni ng at 7:45 and had a flu shot at 8:00am, took the dog for a bath and picked up Hank's quilt at 9:00am. Came home and went to the store house and sorted stuff foe the garage sale tomorrow morning. It was hot and Steve and I were pooped by lunch. WE had to dump the big fish container and scrub it, I decorated the front of the house for fall and then did the inside the same, fall quilts, fancy decorated fruits and veggies, fall sprays etc, got the picture?? I want to put summer away NOW.

I went to Mell at 2:45 for a shampoo and nails. What a treat, can home and am now done for the day, as we will have pancakes and baked apples for supper.(Fall Supper) It is thundering and raining at the moment so Dixie  is under the table at my feet. It is funny when a big truck goes buy and makes a big noise she gets under the table on a sun shining day.

Looking forward to the Saints game on Sunday, WHODAT GO SAINTS!

We sold the Magnum Dodge yesterday sorry to see it go, it was to low for me to drive and tooooooo fancy, I want a plain one !

Didn't sew today, but will on Sunday, binding is made and ready.

Hugs to you all,

love

Busy Day

Good afternoon, went to Target and shopped at 7:30am for FF Cottage cheese and Organic Milk. Walked for 25 minutes in the store then checked out. Got to WW just at nine am and checked in and how wonderful showed a small weight lost after being with the SewN Sew Sisters for 7 days, how sweet is that. Listened to the program for an hour then off to grocery shopping race. Covered Walmart for a few items on sale, then to Winn Dixie for bagged salad(Buy one get one free) and some bagged veggies. Next was the farmers market for really nice fruit and veggies for 2 weeks. Next stop is Albertsons for gala apples, along the way trying for find reasonable eggs on sale. Last stop was Piggly Wiggly for canned peas, corn and string beans (bought 6 cases@.50 a can) and found eggs 5 dozen for $7.00. Got home to unload and her comes sweet Steve down the driveway for lunch(working at Hanks today) . He unloaded while I fixed lunch and then it was getting the groceries put away. All done and I am pooped so I am going to get on the sofa with a book and hope I only last awake 5 minutes.

Had supper with Tayna, Armond, Greg and Cat last night, had a nice visit, Armond has been approved for a heart and kidney transplant, he is on the list. So keep praying.

Grands are coming this weekend and I am having a garage sale. Sounds like a plan.

10 days GONE

Sorry about no communication foe 10 days I have been away in the great North West!!!!!!!! What a trip I had, Barbara hosted me from the airport to Ritzville where Sweet Marge picked me up and hosted me for several days in Star Buck Washington! WE went to a luncheon, picked fresh veggies and cut cat tails on the side of a mountain road in 108 degrees. The weather changed about Wednesday and it was devine temps.

We left for the retreat center in Pomeroy Wash. on Thursday morning singing all the way. The SewNSew Sisiters began arriving that afternoon, the funniest story was Marlyn who got lost and drove up a dirt road in the dark where they are building those gaint windmills. She had us in stitches. What a bunch. Steph and Kathy shopped at estate sales and garage sales, got some awsum bargains. I was limited by baggage size.I know poor patticake. Robbie cooked baked oatmeal and make some supper different salads. I made WW chili and Val brough some killer cornbread for it. Kathy made some spag with shrimp. cream, cheese etc, killer!!! We had breads, cakes, apple turnovers...... too many to mention.

Did I mention we also sewed, made purses from ties, potatoe bags for the microwave, 3 dementional bowtie blocks, glueing quilts together, spray starch points and worked on some fab quilts.

It was nice to go and nice to get home, Steve did a great job with the house and with Dixie. The longer you are married when you have a great marriage the harder is is to leave, the nicer it is to come home.

Thank you Barbara for all the special things you do for me, I love you like a sister.

It couldn't be any better than this! Family, friends, Tropical Storm Lee, eating out, eating in, flowers, gifts and money. Steve gave me the best card..... He is the best! All the family is gone as are our out of town friends. We are finally alone in our PJ's, all clean and ready to really relax. WE have a lot of local flooding and the heavy rains are still falling since thursday and will probably end Tuesday, as of now 16 inches of rain.

This was the greatest birthday I have every had with out a doubt.

The only one thing was my brother and my nephew were flooded in and didn't get to come. I have cake and food for them as soon as I can get in their place.

Thanks to all again for wonderful birthday wishes.
