Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

On Vacation Again

Good morning all! We are on the road again in San Saba Texas after several days in San Marcos and 2 days in Blanco Texas for visits with our friends Tony and Joyce and Renee and John. Life is good at the moment. All but 2 of my quilts made at retreat are quilted and all but 2 have their bindings completed. The Christmas quilt is layered and ready for me to quilt. The diamond quilt is still waiting to be corrected.

Congress has passed the health bill which states when we turn 75 years of age we will be no longer  be able to have to have medical intervention unless a panel approves the procedures we need. Medicare will no longer pay unless the panel approves and of course insurance is on board with the same decision. For someone like me who hasn't had surgeries, I will just be out of luck   if   my  stuff wears out and needs attention. SO my question is this shouls we as a group of senior citizens continue to support the insurance programs?I have 5 years to enjoy getting assistance if needed. What a great idea for living in a free socirty.

And this is a RANT!

Hello Quilting Sistras, I am finally all rested from retreat, 8 quilts now layered and pinned and ready to quilt. All is good got taxes done this afternoon with a new CPA. Like him but not the taxes I have to pay, but as I always say they can take it all but they can't eat you!
Wehave a busy weekend , my sweet Naomi and Nicolas will be here for Strawberry Festival so I will see the tomorrow morning for a visit before the parade. Then I will try to finish tayna's quilt and get it ready to bind. late afternoon we will visit with Andre and Robbie in Folsom to pick up more wood and have supper. Sunday Steve will work the festival and I will be cleaning house as we will be leaving next Saturday for a week in Texas with our dear friends in the Bluebird group. The Texas wild flowers should still be blooming. What a sight to behold, thanks Ladybird for that treasure.

Enjoy life, you only have one.
