Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

A Gift To Me

I have been very busy, most of you know I will be celerbrating my 70th birthday in September so I have given myself the gift of medical exploration. By this I mean I am having everything I own looked at to make sure all is good for another 30 years. I never get  sick and am a  ball of energy since losing 50 plus pounds. I even work in the yard, what a surprise! I am off my diabetic medication, whohoo!!!! I feel like I have a new lease on life. I did a 5k last Saturday, walking not running and still go to WW every week I am in town.

Steve is doing great, loves being back at work about 35 hours a week and having pocket money. We have started thinning out the fence rows after 45 years of growth. WE did 90 feet and will need help for the next 125 feet. Once the temp hit the 90's we were done. I have been racking early in the morning, great chance to use those lazy muscles.

Quilting of yes quilting I have cut, pieced, layered, quilted 8 quilts since the end of march, not bad for a stepter. I have also read a book a week for the last 8 weeks, yes I sleep 7 hours a night, cook every day. Steve and I share 3 meals a day.

Hank and Mike are doing fine, little Hank is home for the summer from LSU and Nicolas and Naomi will spend a week with me in June after the Rally we will attend on June the 7th.

All is good in Louisiana!
