Secrets from Louisiana

So glad you have stopped by for a visit. We have many secrets here in Louisiana. We are a quilters haven because of all the interesting things we have in our environment to see, smell, taste and feel. Our flowers are like perfume in the evening and the colors explode in your eyes. Our seafood is the best in the world and is bountiful from the Gulf.

The palette is non stopping.

My only nemis is those little chairs, hard on the knees. Sweet littke kids and one great teacher and one soso who doesn;t appreciate my experience. Oh well Jean can deal with her in December. I will be back in January for 3 weeks.

All is well in the family, Hank came home for  quick visit from LSU. Will be back for WEd. Nicolas and Naomi will not be coming down for Thanksgiving but we will have them for Christmas. WhooHoo!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day, week.....

Everybody Lived

my first day at work went pretty good. Everybody got where they needed to go and everybody got on the right bus home. whoohoo Tomorrow I will be in Sp. Education instead of K. I don't like that age as much as the older kids. Had to get my feet wet and I did. Education has changed since I left, I still love Teaching and will continue.

Going to soak in the tub.

First Workday

Up early and ready to goooooooo! Who would have guessed I would ever go back to work even part time. Who would have guessed what it cost to fill the RV, groceries, medicines etc. I am glad I have a market skills. The bottom line is I ran out of stuff to do!

I will only work 3 days a week so that leaves lots of time to quilt and no jobs when we have a rally and no work all summer. I think I got this workrd out. Everyone in the family supports my decision.
I am ready, will let you know tomorrow how it works out.

Wonderful Weekend

The weather has been beautiful and we have gotten a lot done for our trip to Georgia next weekend. I have one more quilt to bind before we leave. I packed my clothes today and so did Steve. We will move them to the coach tonight along with some other items. We are expecting Barbara and Mike on Tuesday . They will plug their bus in in front of ours till Friday so we will be going a lot with them visiting. I have made my menues and have gathered my item for the frig and pantry. I don't know how many days I will work this week so preparing ahead is important.

Mike's children were here this weekend, saw them for a little while, they are getting so tall and big. Little Hank is toooooooooo busy at LSU to spare a visit, so I guess Thanksgiving will be the first time to see him since August, I miss him really a lot! My doctor to be grand knows what good grades are.

I have several tie purses laying on the sewing table. I will try to finish them brfore I leave, I need one for my cell phone.

have a great week!

Great News

I bet you have never dreamed I would be writing this news, I am going back to the classroom in the sub pool. I have been off 10 years and have done most things on my bucket list. Teaching again is one of the items on my list not completed. So I applied and the laws have changed so I can only teach 120 days a year so I got my degrees evaluated and I can teach anything at any grade level. I am going to probably work 3 days a week when Steve and I don't have anything special to do. The salary will go into the Maine fund for fuel next summer. I read the law and found out what was new because at first they told me I couldn't work, so I went into action getting the facts together, then finger printing, and applying to the state dept of education for approval. All done and watching the jobulator to ring it's bell for choices for Monday.

We have been teasing Steve about having to fix his meals himself. The wady who makes the sammies will not be here! I even bought some new clothes for the classroom. I am 70 years young so let the good times roll. My house is in order so this should be okay.

I have 2 quilts to do for Christmas, but can work on those in November, we have 2 Saints games in November and Thanksgiving so not so much.

Will keep you guys posted.

A Little Extra Time

I don;t know how I ever worked and ran the household, maybe I am just slower, who knows???? I don't ever get it all done. I have now picked days for certain things to get done. Who knew I would have to have a schedule at age 70.

I just finished planning our meals for the rest of the week.  A Menu  is important since we don't eat fast food. We mainly eat from farm to table which takes a lot more prep time but is so  good for the body and mind. The kitchen is clean and all is tucked away waiting  for breakfast.

I will quilt in a little while watching TV. I read for an hour in the late afternoon while the cornbread was baking to go along with the cabbage, potatoes, carrots and corned beef. A great fall meal!

Steve has been working for big Hank everyday with Michael. Nice having the boys working together.  I see hank and Michael everyday really nice.

My quilts are ready for the quilt sale in Georgia in October, just need to decied on my demo for the ladies. John's quilt is almost finished, doing the binding tonight.

We have a lot to do in the next 3 months.
